Lunchtime and Ward Performances
Hospital Arts has weekly lunchtime performances in the hospital atrium which are free and open to everyone. The performances are selected to be educational and diverse. Performers are encouraged to interact with the audience where possible and once they're finished, taken to the wards to help relax and invigorate the patients.
Many of our performers are provided by our partnership organisations Asian Music Circuit, Concordia Foundation and Falling Wide.
The hospital's second floor stage, suspended in the middle of the atrium, has been used for numerous performances including site-specific art installations.
In 1996 Hospital Arts inaugurated the world’s first free music festival in a hospital, which was a series of seven free concert, free and open to everyone.
Hospital Arts also arranges workshops and weekly activities during the hospital schools’ summer holiday and every Monday, a resident pianist plays in the cafe area.
